Government Girls Primary School Ahemdi Tunia Celebrates Pakistan Day

Government Girls Primary School (GGPS) Ahmedia Tunia recently held an independently-planned, volunteer-run celebration of Pakistan Day at their school.

GGPS Ahmedi Tunia is part of the Sindh Community Mobilization Program (CMP), and has been working with the program team to develop a social mobilization plan.

One activity planned by the government girls’ school was a celebration of Pakistan Day; a day to celebrate their home country, Pakistan, through speeches, singing, festivities and even the distribution of prizes. In total, 105 girls, five boys, nine teachers and nine female members of the School Management Committee (SMC) attended the event and the students reported that they loved celebrating Pakistan day together.

The Celebration of Pakistan Day is a momentous achievement for Blumont and CMP as it symbolizes the ability of local Pakistani schools to utilize the knowledge they have gained through CMP programming to organize their own successful events and continue community engagement without the assistance of the program.
