Blumont Employee Places Among Winners of US Embassy Photo Contest

Among several hundred photos submitted to the 2018 US Embassy Information Resource Center National Photo Contest, Blumont’s Elhama Sediqi was among the winners for her photographs depicting this year’s theme—“Peace and Freedom.”

The contest’s entries, submitted by participants from all across Afghanistan, showcased the country’s culture, society and resilience. Elhama, a Management Assistant for our Conflict Mitigation Assistance for Civilians (COMAC) program, submitted two photos that were nominated to be among the top 10 winners.

Elhama was invited to participate in the photo contest by the Lincoln Learning Center Women’s Garden, one branch of the Lincoln Learning Center partnerships supported by the US Embassy and which works in 21 Afghan provinces conducting programs and campaigns focused on capacity building, education, women’s empowerment, and social support.
