ARLINGTON, VA, March 9, 2023– Blumont Inc. today announced the appointment of Fatema Z. Sumar to the organization’s Board of Directors. Ms. Sumar brings significant international development experience to the Board, having worked as a practitioner in both government and civil society.

Fatema Z. Sumar is Executive Director of the Center for International Development at Harvard University. Ms. Sumar previously served as Vice President of Compact Operations at the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), where she also served as Deputy Vice President for Europe, Asia, the Pacific, and Latin America. She has also held roles at the U.S. Department of State, including as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia, and as senior staff for the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. In civil society, Ms. Sumar served as Vice President of Global Programs at Oxfam America.
Ms. Sumar joins Richard D. George (Chair), Mary Ann Hopkins (Vice Chair), Kendra Davenport, Randa Fahmy, Dr. Alison Taunton-Rigby, and Larry Warren on Blumont’s Board of Directors.
