Mrs. Raydi, a 30-year-old mother living in Kandahar, Afghanistan is finally able to provide for her nine children. As a part of the Kandahar Food Zone (KFZ) project, Mrs. Raydi was able to receive embroidery training allowing her to sell clothing and make an income. Mrs. Raydi and her family live in poverty, but with the increased income, she is able to provide essential food and medicine for her children.
The Kandahar Food Zone project aims to diversify licit rural livelihoods while providing opportunities for behavior change through job training. These improvements will benefit over 20,000 households and over 228,000 program participants.
Mrs. Raydi has developed a fondness for embroidery and is currently working with the KFZ team to establish a business selling her embroidery artwork.
