In Mali, access to land in villages is often decided by men, and women are left with limited space to farm. Women tend to be assigned less fertile land, adding another level of challenge.
Filmed by Alex Potter with the support of the International Reporting Project, the video below shows how the RIC4REC program helped women in Mali gain access to land and increase their yields.
RIC4REC is assisting communities in responding to complex climate risks by helping identify, reinforce, and scale-up their unique adaptive capacities with a focus on food security, training, and improved technology. It addresses the regional effects of climate change, including varying rainfall and drought, on communities with an emphasis on women and youth.
